Transitioning to longer days, and the feeling of warmth from the sunshine that's around of late, has got me thinking about finding joy in the simple pleasures of the moment: soaking in the sun, listening to snow melting, watching the birds soar and the squirrels play with vigor, smelling the sweetness of a cup of tea infusing with floral herbs, hearing someone laugh with abandon. How do you find joy in your day to day? I hope it's something you practice for sustenance.

"The tools you use to view something change what you see and affect what you see."

-Kevin O'Connor

I have an idea that we humans are building ourselves and our world as we go. From the moment we come into the world, we are infused in the culture of our family, our schools, our town, our state, our country, etc., etc. To be part of a community, most of us follow the social norms of the "cultures" we're in and take on a view of the world that blends both our very individual cultures and experiences and the very human need to be part of a group. In this episode of The Mindful Strength Podcast, Kevin O'Connor discusses the fascinating and emerging perspectives on what fascia is. One frame suggests that fascia can listen in to what we practice on a daily basis and respond accordingly. He delves into how we can try on different "anatomies" and create new "imaginaries" which might change how we move through the world. I hope you get a chance to listen to this fascinating discussion.

Even if you don't, you might experiment with the practice of trying on a different anatomy. Do you move differently if you imagine yourself moving from your muscles as opposed to moving from your organs? What if you imagine moving from an entirely "new to you" construct? Let your imagination lead you into a new territory and a new way of looking at yourself and the world.

"We are more endowed with potential than most dare to imagine. The human form, with its capacity for holding states of love, gratitude, kindness, generosity and harmonic functioning, is an extraordinary gift."
