The Spine Clinic is a small group workshop (limited to 3 students) that takes place at Lake Breeze Wellness. This clinic runs four Saturdays in April (4/6, 4/13, 4/20, 4/27) from 12:00 - 1:15 PM. This is a discounted pass for all four sessions. Because of the nature of this small group setting, this pass is non-refundable.
Have you ever heard that your spine is like a credit card, and it only has so many forward & backward bends in it before it will break? Have you been told that rounding your spine can be "dangerous," especially when lifting something? In The Spine Clinic, we'll balance some of the fear-based ideas that have sprung up around spinal movement and bring in a fresh perspective; namely, that our spines are robust and made to move. They are made up of living cells that adapt to the forces we experience in life. Like the clinics that came before this one, we'll dive into a little anatomy on the spine & its surrounding tissues. Most of our time will be spent experiencing movement: back bends, forward bends, side bends, rotations. We'll play with some somatic exercises, use lots of props for feedback and to experience poses in new ways, and I hope you'll leave the clinic with a better sense of this area of your body and how it moves. In this small group setting, there will be opportunities to attend to some of your specific needs and questions around certain musculoskeletal concerns. This clinic is appropriate for both new yoga practitioners as well as yoga teachers.
