Private Yoga Sessions

These sessions are held, 1-on-1, at Lake Breeze Wellness in Irondequoit. I also offer semi-private sessions (up to 3 students) and depending on your location, I can travel to you. To inquire about rates, packages, or if you have any other questions, feel free to contact me.

A private yoga session is tailored specifically to you. Maybe your doctor has cleared you to practice yoga, but you're feeling uncertain about attending a crowded studio class. You may feel you have certain limitations post-injury. Maybe you're currently dealing with stiff or achy joints, and you're ready to start building things back up. You might want to learn some new ways of looking at yoga poses so they feel like they're working for you. Or you might want to learn about certain aspects of yoga beyond the physical postures: breathing & mindfulness techniques, meditation, yoga philosophy; all useful for encouraging vitality and meeting the ever-moving energy of life.

Regardless of what brings you to a private session, my aim is to help you feel capable of meeting your daily tasks, learn to embrace the challenges that show up, and offer you guidance and support along the way. I love yoga and feel so lucky to be sharing what I've learned in my studies from my teachers and mentors, and my own experiences, to offer you a well-rounded practice, and to bolster the wonderful, innate qualities you already possess.

February Hip Clinic

The Hip Clinic is a small group workshop (limited to 3 students) that takes place at Lake Breeze Wellness.

This clinic runs the last four Saturdays in February (2/7, 2/14, 2/21, 2/28) from 10:00 - 11:15 AM. This pass is for all four sessions. Please only purchase if you are able to attend all sessions. Thank you!

Did you know that the hip is a ball and socket joint, and it doesn't "open" in just one direction? In this hip clinic we'll explore the various ways the hip joint moves. We'll start the first workshop of the series with a little chat on some anatomical landmarks and a map of where we'll plan to go in the series, but the majority of our time will be spent experiencing movement. You can bring questions if you have them, or we'll discover them as we go. We'll practice some somatic lessons from the Feldenkrais system, which can be great for reconnecting the dots if there are areas of the body-mind that have gotten fuzzy over time. We'll "talk to our tissues" by putting tension on them (stretching them!) in multiple ways: isometrics (which have been documented to be helpful in pain relief), eccentrics (helpful for coordination), and some nice passive stretches to settle into rest. You'll walk away with a better sense of this area of your body and how it moves and anchors you. In this small group setting, there will be opportunities to attend to some of your specific needs and questions around certain musculoskeletal concerns. This clinic is appropriate for both new yoga practitioners as well as yoga teachers.

Restorative Yoga & Reiki

Details:

We are offering two Restorative Yoga & Reiki workshops during the month of February:

+Saturday, 2/14

+Saturday, 2/28

Details apply to both workshops.

The workshops take place from 5:00 - 6:30 PM, at Apricity Mind + Body Collective. Kasia will be joined by Amanda Fite from FORM Integrative Health, who’ll be offering Reiki during the workshops. Amanda took her Reiki level 1 and 2 from Robyn Devoist in 2009. Reiki is a form of energy work that uses the practitioner as a conduit to balance energy systems and ground the recipient. Space for these workshops is limited and intended to offer you individual care and attention. There is off-street parking behind the building. Cost is $55. Pass is non-refundable. All sales are final.

As we move deeper into winter, a time made for contemplation & rest, this workshop will aim to offer just that. The combination of Restorative Yoga and Reiki will give you an opportunity to slow down, rest deeply, and feel more grounded. We’ll start the workshop with some gentle movement, during which Amanda will provide an overall energy cleanse and reset. We’ll then move through a series of supported yoga poses using a variety of props (blankets, straps, bolsters, blocks). We’ll use the props, some directed breathing techniques, and the Reiki to encourage a state of balance and rest. Amanda will move from person to person during the course of the workshop to offer each individual a mini Reiki session. Once everyone is in a supported savasana (the final pose in the workshop), Amanda will offer an overall grounding to set the tone for some deep rest.

This is NOT an active posture workshop; for the most part, the poses will be supported by props and held for an extended period of time. Props will be provided.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions! Amanda and I are looking forward to offering you space for rest, quiet, and support. ✨

Instructions:

Please bring your yoga mat, an extra layer to keep yourself warm, and anything else that will help you feel comfortable. If you have an eye pillow, soft scarf, or hand towel, you could bring that to cover your eyes during savasana. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the workshop starts to allow time to check in and get settled. Thank you!
