Now...the yoga!
That may sound like a tall order, but the magic is in that first word: "now." Starting right now, just as you are now.
I started teaching small group classes in a tiny yoga room, and one of the first things I noticed was how each student seemed to approach yoga postures in their own unique way; this is one of the things that led to my love for teaching one-on-one sessions, and the continued inspiration I find in our remarkable, variable, and adaptable human bodies! The common thread in all my classes is to highlight that; just how resilient, capable, & adaptable all of us are. All we need to begin is an attitude of curiosity & a willingness to pay attention as we explore movement, breath, and the patterns that might show up for us.
Want to move more, feel more open to life, and get to know yourself a bit better? That may also sound like a tall order, but I think yoga can help forge that path.
I'm currently offering private yoga sessions and small group clinics at Lake Breeze Wellness in Irondequoit. I also teach outdoor classes on the patio at Lake Breeze during the summer. I have a few specialized, small group online offerings so you can join in from wherever you are!

I've been practicing yoga in some form or another since I graduated from college, but I'll never forget the very first time I rested in silence at the end of the first yoga class I attended. I had a glimpse into what it felt like to feel really connected to "everything." That experience motivated me to try and recreate that feeling again, on & off the mat. Since then, I developed into a bit of a learning "addict," thinking that each new course I took would make me feel ready to teach other people. The truth is, the more I practice, teach, and study, the less I know for certain, except that there is no one way that works perfectly for everyone. But I see that as very valuable information and a great jumping off point. That means that when you come to my classes, I'm there as a guide. YOU are the real driver. We'll start right where you are, and we'll learn so much as we explore this practice together!
The world we live in is vast and full of things to wonder about, and I hope to continue learning as long as I'm here. My most recent continuing education studies are focused on pain science and yoga biomechanics. I'm so grateful to my formal teachers for the continued inspiration, to my students who share so generously and have taught me so much, and to the practice of yoga which I've found to be fertile ground for learning, fresh perspective, & play.
